Position Overview
Ultimate Staffing is actively seeking a Commercial Maintenance Technician for a leading retail general contractor. The successful candidate will reside near the satellite office in Meridian, Idaho, and will be required to travel for various projects. This direct hire, permanent position offers a pay range of $22.00 to $34.00 per hour, along with a company vehicle, gas card, and company-issued cell phone.
Responsibilities
The Commercial Maintenance Technician will perform a variety of basic handyman tasks, using existing knowledge of measuring, cutting, drilling, nailing, and assembling materials to job specifications. The technician will install retail fixtures, railings, doors and door hardware, cabinetry, and decor packages while being comfortable troubleshooting and diagnosing issues to assist in formulating long-term solutions. The schedule varies depending on project requirements, with the majority of work conducted during daytime hours (8:00 AM to 5:00 PM). However, candidates must be available to work overnight shifts, weekends, and other off-hours as needed to accommodate facility shutdowns.
Essential Duties
- Complete onboarding program in the first week, including basic safety training, equipment training certification, CPR, and OSHA training if not completed.
- Demonstrate refined carpentry skills developed from years of experience.
- Perform a variety of basic handyman tasks using existing knowledge of how to measure, cut, drill, nail, and assemble materials to job specifications.
- Install retail fixtures, railings, doors, door hardware, cabinetry, and décor packages using finish carpentry skills.
- Effectively complete service calls while following appropriate and safe procedures.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues to assist in formulating long-term solutions.
- Utilize time management skills to maintain the job schedule and ensure work meets quality standards, original plans, specs, and deadlines.
- Demonstrate general safety knowledge, wear appropriate safety equipment, use tools safely, and remain accident-free.
- Communicate with clients and Maintenance Department team regularly to stay updated on critical steps to move projects forward.
- Show integrity, compassion, and empathy when dealing with clients, embodying the company culture.
- Display pride in work and craftsmanship and encourage the same work ethic in coworkers and subcontractors.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of maintenance (or similar) experience required.
- 3+ years of commercial construction experience required.
- 3+ years of retail carpentry experience required.
- Plumbing experience is a plus.
- Able to read blueprints and knowledgeable in construction methods.
- Can perform general physical tasks common to the carpentry position (lifting up to 50 pounds, kneeling, bending, standing, climbing, repetitive motion, use of hand tools).
- Previous experience in the ability to layout, plan, and execute interior and exterior carpentry is a plus.
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Possession of a valid Driver's License, good driving history, dependable transportation required, and a clean background check.
- Demonstrated history of working safely and adhering to safety standards.
- Can accommodate extended travel to work sites and overnight stays for up to 1 week.
Work Hours
Monday through Sunday, with flexibility required for project demands.

Max Pay is $34 per hour. Min Pay is $22 per hour.
